Definition: RACKETEERS OFFER A DECEITFUL SERVICE TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT OTHERWISE WOULDN'T EXIST.
Sustainable Electronics Recycling Institute -Formerly known as "R2 Solutions" - is in criminal racketeering territory nowadays.
They already violated ANSI and ANAB rules with Version 3, as we documented here 3 years ago. Now they are taking something - secondhand solar panels - which they have NEVER shown ANAB or ANSI they have ANY expertise or authority in, and are clearly making their monetary interests (SERI YOUR SALARY) upfront. @2019 Blog on Certification and Racketeering.
Read this. If you are certified by SERI to test solar panels for reuse, you pay them $20lk, it's fine. But if you sell the solar panels to a Solar Panel Expert Wizard - WHO HAS NEVER HEARD OF SERI OR R2 - you can only do so if SERI has issued the Solar Panel Expert Wizard a CERTIFICATE costing $20,000.
This is criminal racketeering, it's mafia s**t.
I know 12 people who know more about solar panel reuse than anyone Corey at SERI has even met or talked to. This was the issue when R2 Version 1 made contracts between two businesses, the purchase order, the equal of any standard R2 Solutions - now doing business as SERI - the equivalent of REC.
Here's an example of REC standards leading to less reuse if the Version One contract between parties is eliminated...
A Kunming China laptop buyer I met only wanted to purchase laptops with missing keys on the keyboard. He exclusively purchased non REC laptops. The reason, he explained, was that his Kunming factory removed all the keyboards, working or not, to re-manufacture keyboards in Arabic or Pharsi. And he knew his niche, that the laptops without "fully functioning" keyboards could be purchased for MUCH less than he'd have to pay for "fully functional" (R2 REC) keyboards.
SERI would make this niche Tech Sector laptop remanufacturer pay $20k to the certification industrial complex. And now, the Solar Panel reuse wizards, and being racketeered in the same way. Because SERI knows less than half as much as the buyers, but is white people making rules... the "formal sector".
Here is a wonderful project that will lessen climate change, but whose practitioners will never be able to pay SERI-Corey the $20k to be qualified to reuse solar panels.
