$15,000 and we haven't yet gotten the bill for the auditor's hotel and travel.
What does R2 Certification buy you?
If the auditor finds 5 "Major" Non-conformities, it is game over, you are disqualified as vendors for your statewide contracts. And you paid the assassin. But in the history of R2 that has NEVER happened. Huh. Why? Because the tick bleeding the $15k for year doesn't want to kill its host. They always give at least one NC to guarantee another bite, but never the 5 disqualifying (unless the client is bankrupt).
If the blood sucking tick R2 ISO auditor actually kills / disqualifies its host...
Thousands of public collection programs would be abandoned. So the art of the auditor is to find minor nonconformities and just so many majors, to keep the state recycler feeding the auditor.
This particular auditor says she does not accept the same paperwork that has been accepted at every monthly NCER inspection, every Sony and Panasonic etc. inspection, every Vermont and Massachusetts DEP inspection - she, a Nashville auditor - has seen through the massive environmental degradation... which hasn't occurred in the previous 15 years of audits.
But she let me know she has us by the balls today. Not the first time.
The cited MAJOR offense? That these stacks are labelled by "completion date", when the stack is full. Not "commencement" when the first item is placed on the pallet (with no stack to put the label upon).
In every case, the stack is made in an hour, on the same day. The commencement date is the same day, let alone NOT 365 days later. And our auditor has chosen THIS hill to murder us upon.

We are only appealing one of the major violations and 11 minor violations she alleges. All the others we will do our penance, whether we agreed or not. But there was one Major she is completely mistaken or wrong about, and after several pleas to compromise just THAT one to a minor, she chose this hill.
As I receive the individual responses to my responses - possibly resulting in the explosion of the Vermont E-Cycles program where our truck stop collecting and we live off of the past 90 days billables and listed items to wind down and give the state the other ... um, no other bidder... to continue with.
Today was reborn the seed of R2v1. Version One, the EPA public document. Public record. Courts will see that Version two only had a slight change to make it copyright rights defensible by SERI.
You can hire an auditor today to verify you are R2v1 compliant and under Vermont state law passed in 2010 that is exactly the standard the legislation pointed to.
ChatGPT keeps saying to de-escalate everything, all the time, with an auditor. This seems like a possible way I'm smarter than AI, if I pull this off, and under Vermont law... anyway not to give my game away.
